Alison Steadward

In 2000, I was approached by Andrew and Susan to support them develop and grow the practice to one of the best forward thinking and dynamic practices in the UK. Over the last 20 years we have grown the practice to over 50 staff, with 18 state of the art dental surgeries and dedicated 3D X ray imaging suite. My Postgraduate Management Diploma and MBA, which will complete in October, has helped me streamline the business and operations of the practice, as well as consolidate the increasing clinical governance aspects which I am responsible for.

In 2005, I set up, the first 3D cone beam CT X ray imaging service- the first unit of its kind in a dental practice in Europe. My clinical experience has allowed me to grow within the dental industry and be an effective and visible manager.

My commitment to lifelong learning has enabled me to develop the Dawood & Tanner Academy – a nationally recognised training centre for dental professionals, to help and inspire dental nurses to fulfil their potential and educate them in various aspects of dentistry. I am an examiner for the National Examiners Board and a committee member of the Implant Committee. The Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) awarded me a membership to the faculty of dental trainers in 2018 in recognition of my commitment to teaching and mentoring.
I am passionate about patient care and work hard with staff of all levels and referrers to ensure the patient journey from referral to treatment is seamless and exceptional.
